Tangram is a Chinese dissection puzzle consisting of seven flat polygons, called tans, which are put together to form shapes.
Over 6500 different tangram configurations have been created from 19th century texts alone, and the current number is ever-growing.
Tangram originated in Imperial China during the Tang Dynasty, it is thought to have travelled to Europe in the 19th century on trading ships.
